We had the honor of getting to know venue owner, Brittney Samford, and to hear about her stunning new Estate! Check it out below.

The Hillside Estate is a fairly new venue in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. For anyone who doesn’t know too much about it yet, can you give us a quick synopsis and what makes the Hillside Estate such a unique wedding venue?

The Hillside Estate is a French-inspired luxury wedding venue that offers a personalized experience for those who want to celebrate the special times in their lives in the most fabulous way! The venue provides a white glove experience from start to finish that is offered from the grounds, to the items included in the rental, to the world class service. It’s 17,000 square feet, and is located on 16 acres that is nestled among rolling hills with scenic views of the valley and lake. The location is easily accessible, yet hidden for seclusion and privacy. There are plenty of venues in the Dallas Fort Worth area, but The Hillside Estate combines a beautiful, unique space with a top-notch experience! 

What is your favorite fun fact or hidden feature about The Hillside Estate?

My favorite feature is that the venue is such an elegant blank slate that can really be personalized. A lot of venues have such specific styles from their carpet, paint colors, light fixtures, etc. but we wanted to make sure it was a beautiful space that a client could make their own. And fun fact: every vendor on our preferred partner list has been fully vetted by our team and is someone we have personally worked with and had great experiences with!

How did you get your venue started, and what would you consider the most rewarding part of your job?

I first started in the wedding industry back in 2018 when I decided to open up a planning and design business. It started out as a hobby, but quickly became a full time job that I absolutely loved and now own both the planning and design company as well as the venue.

The most rewarding thing is being a part of such a momentous occasion for our amazing couples and getting to watch them go through their day and be surprised and in awe of their vision coming to life in our space!

Can you share a funny, memorable, or unique moment that’s happened at an event?

For a memorable story, the first client to ever book our venue came and saw a concrete slab on the ground and trusted in our dream and vision. We got to host their wedding at the end of May and to see everything come to fruition and have them believe in our journey from the start was such a special moment to celebrate! We had a lot of trust from our current couples who saw the venue in its construction phase and it is such a joy to see how happy they are on wedding day after taking that leap of faith on us!

If you could give your couples just one important piece of advice while planning, what would that be?

Hire a wedding planner as early as possible! They are invaluable when it comes to selecting the right vendors for your wedding day and helping you prioritize your budget and needs for the wedding day to make sure you are spending wisely on the items that matter most.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?

I enjoy spending time with my husband and 5 pups, being on the lake with my family & enjoying fun nights out with our close friends!

Anything else you’d like to share with us or potential clients?

We highly recommend touring multiple venues and asking the hard questions. Our goal is transparency from the moment you submit a contact form through the end of your wedding to make sure you are not ever hit with surprises along the way as you plan your special day.
