This week we got to catch up with a dear friend who is an incredible wedding planner in the DFW area – Jacqueline Hill! She owns Jacqueline Events which is a full service event company specializing in weddings, corporate, social, and non-profit events. They provide meticulous planning and lush designs for life’s biggest celebrations.
We highly suggest working with a planner when planning your wedding so that they can help you create the wedding of your dreams while staying organized, in budget & making sure every little detail is accounted for. Jacqueline and her team always manage to plan events that are jaw-dropping gorgeous and full of unique details that truly fit your style. Learn more from her below!
When and how did you get started in the wedding industry?
After college, I began working for a large non-profit and loved the details that went into every event. I started Jacqueline Events in 2010 after leaving my corporate job because I wanted to make the planning and design process enjoyable for clients while keeping the details in the forefront.
On average, how many weddings do you take on per month/year?
The sky is the limit for us!
Do you prefer to work in a team or solo?
For events, we love the teams we pull together and appreciate all of their hard work. Day to day, I have two amazing girls that work with me – Madison and Morgan. They keep the workdays full of excitement and laughs!
What is your secret for staying calm during the planning process?
We put so much time and detail into each event that we know plan B before it even needs to happen! We put one foot in front of the other, remaining in control of the situation.
How do you stay so organized when you wear so many hats?
We have found that morning meetings are a great way to stay on top of things! We also use different systems such as Trello and Aisle Planner to help us all stay on the same page!
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Relationships with our clients and vendors are why we love what we do! We are able to bring our clients’ visions to life and make their dreams a reality. What could be better?
Can you share a funny or memorable instance that has happened at an event?
We did a wedding where the precious flower girl fell into a fountain during the processional! We had a guest jump in to pull her out and thankfully it was all caught on tape. In the moment it was terrifying, but now we can laugh!
During these trying times of navigating wedding planning during this pandemic, what advice would you give to couples that are in the midst of planning?
Remember what truly matters. At the end of this you will be married to the love of your life!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending my free time cheering on my kids. Baseball, softball, basketball, football, gymnastics & dance – they do it all! My happy place is watching baseball on a perfect spring evening!
