IYN Spotlight – Haley Lynne Photography

September 16, 2020 by itsyouradmin Weddings 0 comments

Our IYN Spotlight of the week is not only a vendor that we love to work with, but also a future bride who will be celebrating with Jeremiah as her DJ next year! Haley started her own business in 2017 and has been capturing stunning weddings ever since! Read on to learn all about her!

Haley, tell us a little bit about your photography business!

Haley Lynne Russell

Hey there! My name is Haley. I own Haley Lynne Photography based out of Denton, TX. We shoot weddings, family & lifestyle photography. We really pride ourselves on capturing authentic moments that truly make you feel something when you look back at your photos.

How many events do you do each year?

We are averaging about 25-30 weddings per year. As far as sessions, it really just depends on the season! Sometimes we have several sessions a day, but on average, I’d say about 4 shoots a week.

How do you stay calm under pressure?

I really like to look at the big picture. I’ve had brides in the past that I have literally pulled aside and pep-talked through some huge wedding day hiccups. I think it is incredibly important to remember that we can’t always control everything around us and that we need to look at the end goal and big picture. If it won’t matter in the long run, I think it is easier to just move on. When something doesn’t go as I have planned at a wedding, I try to pick up and move past it quickly so that I can refocus!

Authentic, memorable, timeless, fun & creative

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is getting to see people relive moments that we have captured in photos. Wedding days can be SO crazy that the couple doesn’t always get to see everything that goes on. Getting to turn time a little bit by sharing those unseen moments is just so fulfilling!

During these trying times of navigating wedding planning during this pandemic, what advice would you give to couples that are in the midst of planning?

So this question is incredibly unique to me right now because not only am I a vendor, but I am now officially a bride also! I think the best advice that I can give to both myself and to other brides is to remember the true reason for your wedding. So many things are up in the air and changing by the minute, but something that is unchanging is your love for your future spouse. As much as we all want a huge wedding that we have dreamed of for years, we might also need to come to terms with the current state of the world. At the end of the day, your wedding is about you and your spouse, the love you share & your public profession of that. You’ll be just as married with 75 guests as you would have been with 150!

When you’re not shooting weddings, what do you do for fun?

I feel like I lose all credibility and cool points when I answer this question -ha! Do netflix and snacking count as hobbies? Jokes aside, I actually have another small business called Handmade by Haley Lynne where I create and sell custom watercolor portraits, greeting cards, and other painted items.

Because we’re in the biz, what’s your favorite song to dance to?

Ooh, Dance Her Home by Cody Johnson.
