Where elegance meets history and where modern-day romance intertwines with timeless charm, The Fort Worth Club is a legendary wedding venue that encapsulates the essence of sophistication and Southern hospitality and has been the backdrop to countless love stories. With its rich heritage and impeccable service, The Fort Worth Club promises not just a wedding day, but an extraordinary experience where dreams are brought to life. But don’t just take our word for it. Hear what Catie Iversen from The Fort Worth Club says herself about what makes the venue special in our IYN Spotlight interview!
Can you give us a quick bio of who you are and what makes The Fort Worth Club such a unique wedding vendor?
My name is Catie Iversen, and I’m the Wedding & Social Events Catering Manager at the Fort Worth Club! The Club building is quickly approaching its 100th birthday, and while we love the stunning 1920’s architecture and design, we’re proudest of the excellent food and service we’ve provided throughout its existence. Our world-class culinary team always knocks it out of the park with their food, and they’ll make sure every guest is well-fed while they’re here! Our banquet managers and captains are some of the best in the business, and they know how to make sure each couple and their VIPs feel special on the wedding day.
What is your favorite feature/fun fact about The Fort Worth Club?
I always say, “if these walls could talk…” The Club has hosted some very interesting and high-profile guests over the years, and I’ve heard so many stories from our more veteran staff members—but we’ll keep those confidential for now! Let’s just say a lot has happened in 100 years! Many of our employees swear the building is haunted, but only by friendly ghosts! Don’t be too concerned if you see a flickering light bulb.
What is the most rewarding part of your job at The Fort Worth Club?
The most rewarding part of my job is getting to see our brides and grooms on their happiest day. It’s a unique gift to be a part of such a monumental day in someone’s life, and I love knowing that our staff will be there for them every step of the way. I also love seeing everyone’s different family and relationship dynamics—every couple is different!
What trends are you seeing and loving right now in the industry?
My favorite trend is COLOR! I love that more and more couples are unafraid to add bold colors into their floral arrangements and decor. There’s nothing wrong with white and soft colors, but the vibrant tones are so unique and make a wedding really stand out, not only to guests, but to vendors as well.
If you could give your couples just one important piece of advice while planning, what would that be?
Three words: Hire. A. Planner. They will make your life so much easier! A full-service planner is certainly the dream, but even just a month-of planner will be an amazing resource to you. You don’t know what you don’t know, so a good planner is worth every penny. Since the Fort Worth Club can take care of so much of the set-up and service, many couples initially think that I’m a great substitute for a planner, but my focus stays within the scope of what the Club provides. We’ll be able to check off that the florist brought flowers, but we won’t know if they’re the wrong color! With upwards of 50 weddings and countless social events a year, we’re certainly experts in what we do, but a planner will be able to apply that laser focus to all aspects of your big day.
What is the best way to get in touch with you?
Shoot me an email! I’m often away from my desk on a tour or in a meeting, so email is the quickest way to get in touch with me. civersen@fortworthclub.com OR catering@fortworthclub.com
Is there anything else you’d like to share with us or potential clients?
We have special wedding packages that include everything in one easy, per-person price: all food (either plated or buffet), a 4-hour unlimited bar, all set-up and service and even two custom wedding cakes! We offer four different package levels, so the happy couple can choose whatever package best suits their needs.
