This week we are featuring our friends at The Fort Worth Club and we’re so excited to share all about this beautiful, traditional venue! Since 1885, The Fort Worth Club, known for its historic charm and distinguished service in downtown Fort Worth, has hosted so many timeless weddings. We interviewed Hillary Maynard, Catering Manager at the Club, for our IYN Spotlight this week!
Hillary, tell us about yourself!
My name is Hillary Maynard and I am on the catering team at The Fort Worth Club and I am so proud to be a part of this extraordinary team! After I began my career in the hospitality industry in 2013, it was not until 2016 that I began a new chapter at The Fort Worth Club, one of the top ten private clubs in the country, which has since been named a Five Star Platinum Club of the World. For my clients, I like to keep things simple and ensure the planning process is stress free for couples planning their big day. In fact, calm and collected is my mantra, and any day of the week you can find me in the Club with a smile, high ponytail and coffee in hand.
How many events do you do each year?
Our team does an average of 2,500+ catering events per year and of those, 45-55 are weddings.
How do you stay calm under pressure?
A positive mental attitude is my secret. There is a solution to every problem, especially when handled with a smile. 🙂
What is your favorite feature of The Fort Club Club?
As the original social club of Fort Worth, the amount of history which surrounds the building is unmatched.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is the connection and friendships I make each day with clients and vendors. Seeing a glowing smile on my client’s face when their vision comes to life is unbelievably rewarding.
During these trying times of navigating wedding planning during this pandemic, what advice would you give to couples that are in the midst of planning?
HIRE A WEDDING PLANNER. I can’t say this enough! Let someone else stress about the little things. Breathe and go back to the basics and remember the reason why you’re getting married in the first place.
When you’re not busy at Fort Worth Club, how do you like to spend your free time?
When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and chihuahuas (Murphy, Molly & Moxie Maynard). I love to garden and currently my husband is teaching me how to cook!
Just for fun, what’s your favorite music to dance to?
I’m happy to bust a move to any ‘90’s – ’2000’s hip hop!
How can couples get in contact with you?
You can reach me via email or phone call at 817-338-3491, I’m always down for a good chat!
Thank you, Hillary!
